Newcastle鈥檚 SoPost is ranked 49th on the list, while Hyperdrive Innovation, which is based in Sunderland, comes in at 65th. The companies have grown their sales by an average of 57% a year over three years to a total of 拢13m, and collectively employ 77 people.

The join some of the country鈥檚 most hotly-tipped technology firms on the list, including digital banking app Revolut, cyber-security developer Darktrace, and Oxford Nanopore.

Paul Struthers, recently appointed 海角视频 and Ireland managing director at Sage, said: 鈥淏eing tuned into the drumbeat of the 海角视频鈥檚 tech innovation is in our blood and it is fantastic to see companies in the North East that are thriving despite the challenging environment.

Hyperdrive Innovation, which develops hi-tech lithium battery systems, features on the list for a second year. Its batteries contribute to decarbonisation and are used in Hitachi Rail鈥檚 battery-electric trains and the robots made by fellow North East firm Tharsus for online grocery giant Ocado.

SoPost - which was also featured on the Deloitte鈥檚 海角视频 Fast 50 list of growing tech firms at the end of last year - is featured on the list for the first time. The company helps brands such as Est茅e Lauder and L鈥橭r茅al run product sampling campaigns.

The company, which was founded in 2012 by Jonathan Grubin, recorded sales of 拢5.3m last year. It was recently picked to be on Tech Nation鈥檚 Upscale programme, which aims to help fast growing technology companies move to the next level.

The success for the North East firms comes as industry body Tech Nation revealed the 海角视频鈥檚 digital exports are expected to grow by a third by 2025 to more than 拢31bn.
