KCom’s ground-breaking broadband network has been shortlisted for another prestigious national award.

The Hull-based internet service provider’s full fibre rollout is one of five finalists nominated in the Telecoms Project of the Year category of the National Technology Awards.

It completed the £85m project in April 2019 and last month announced a further £100 million investment to expand the network to tens of thousands more properties across East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire.

KCom managing director Sean Royce said: “I’m delighted that yet again our º£½ÇÊÓƵ-leading full fibre rollout has been recognised at a national level.

“It has been a huge achievement to bring full fibre broadband to our traditional heartland of Hull and East Yorkshire, but what’s particularly pleasing about this latest nomination is that it also recognises our £100 million network expansion beyond that, which is already underway.

“It’s a great reminder to the rest of the º£½ÇÊÓƵ of what we are achieving here in Hull, East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire and that this is the best place in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ for ultrafast broadband.

“After a successful 2019 it’s great to start 2020 on another high.”

KCom will now go head to head with fellow finalists EE, Digital Detox, Pickr and Voneus. The winner will be announced at a gala dinner in London, on Thursday, May 7.
