MS3 launches Scunthorpe full fibre broadband roll-out

35,000 homes and businesses set to be given access to faster service

MS3 Networks is now rolling out full fibre broadband in Scunthorpe.

MS3 Networks has connected the first properties to its new full fibre network in Scunthorpe.

More than 35,000 homes and businesses will be able to access the roll-out, with gigabit-capable broadband infrastructure provided by the Hull firm. Synchronous speeds of up to one gigabit per second - more than 20 times faster than the current national average - are promised

MS3, a wholesale-only operator, supplies the service through partnerships with several internet service providers. The expansion was announced earlier this year. The network, which also provides consumers with more choice, should be complete by early 2023.

Guy Miller, chief executive of MS3 Networks, where huge investment has enabled the ramp-up following a European buy out, said: “So far, much of MS3’s early XGS-PON fibre build, which aims to cover 500,000 º£½ÇÊÓƵ premises within the next four years, has focused on parts of Hull.

“Now, as part of ongoing expansion across the º£½ÇÊÓƵ, we’re pleased to be supporting Scunthorpe with faster, future-proofed broadband.

“We understand the impact a full fibre network can bring to the local economy, supporting residents professionally, socially and with their education. It’s about more than just delivering an ultrafast internet connection — it’s about giving choice to local communities and equipping them with a tool that impacts almost every area of their lives. We’re working closely with residents in the area to inform them of work we’re carrying out and the benefits of the rollout, and our team will remain on hand to answer any questions as work continues.”

Further areas for expansion of the fibre-to-the-premise network will be announced later this year by the Hessle team.
