The fintech sector in Wales will have an opportunity to question the man leading a review commissioned by the 海角视频 Government aiming at further boosting one of the economy鈥檚 fasting growing industries.
Former boss of payments process Worldplay, Ron Kalifa is expected to submit his report to Chancellor Rishi Sunak later this week. The report is being described as seeking to create the platform for a 'big bang' for the sector, which is already worth 拢7bn to the 海角视频 economy.
Recommendations could include a 拢1bn fund to back fintech start-ups and support to deliver regional clusters across the 海角视频 so its expansion isn't too focused on London and the south-east.
This could see one established in Wales, building on the strengths of its emerging fintech sector and expertise in consumer data driven by established market leaders such as Admiral and Moneysupermarket.com.
FinTech Wales, the independent membership association and champion of the fintech and financial services industry in Wales, is hosting an online chat with Mr Kalifa this Thursday.
