London firms have dominated a list of the fastest growing tech companies in the 海角视频, taking almost two-thirds of the positions available.
The Deloitte鈥檚 海角视频 Fast 50 list has been running since 1998 to shine a light on the country鈥檚 rapidly expanding tech firms.
Digital bank Revolut topped this year鈥檚 list, in which London companies took 32 of the 50 places and eight of the top 10.
Revolut was followed by London fintech firm OakNorth, with DivideBuy, from Newcastle-under-Lyme, the top-ranked business outside London.
Richard Davies, chief operating officer at Revolut, said: 鈥淚 don鈥檛 think there is a more exciting company in the world right now than Revolut.
鈥淲e are just in the first stages of expansion, and see phenomenal potential to create a truly global brand in the coming years. Our challenge now is to make sure the business and structure scales at the same pace, and that we continue to invest in our people and processes.
鈥淒eloitte鈥檚 Fast 50 ranking is a fantastic showcase identifying the success of technology start-ups in the 海角视频. Revolut being recognised in these awards highlights just how far we have grown in the industry.鈥
Deloitte said the companies on the Fast 50 list employed 8,700 employees and showed growth rate of 3,878% and total revenues in 2019 of more than 拢650m.
Duncan Down, lead partner for the Deloitte 海角视频 Technology Fast 50 programme, said: 鈥淭he pace of growth from this year鈥檚 Fast 50 is nothing short of exceptional, and testament to the innovation and success enjoyed by the 海角视频鈥檚 technology industry today.
鈥淭he sector continues to thrive despite market uncertainty, which is largely due to the drive, resilience and creativity of the teams being celebrated in these awards. I would like to offer my personal congratulations to every one of this year鈥檚 winners on the outstanding growth they have enjoyed.
鈥淩evolut achieving the fourth-highest growth in the history of the Fast 50 competition within an uncertain economic climate is remarkable. Fintech businesses have performed particularly strongly in this year鈥檚 awards, demonstrating that the 海角视频 is fertile ground for start-ups in the sector.鈥
Outside London, there were four companies listed from the South East, three each from Scotland, the North West and Cambridgeshire and East. The North East provided one entry and there were two from the Midlands.
Jonathan Grubin, founder of sole North East entry SoPost, said it was disappointing that more companies from the North East had not managed to be included.
Mr Grubin said: 鈥淚t鈥檚 an extraordinary feeling to be ranked as the North East鈥檚 fastest growing tech company for the second year running. I鈥檝e never really looked at awards as a measure of success, but winning this one means so much to me and the team.
鈥淲e鈥檙e completely focused on our mission to build the most powerful product sampling platform in the world, and this is phenomenal recognition of our work so far. We have no plans to slow down, and there鈥檚 a lot of exciting stuff in the pipeline that we鈥檒l be showcasing soon.
鈥淚 was disappointed not to see more North East representation in the Fast 50 and my hope is that, as SoPost continues to scale, we can support the growth of the region鈥檚 ecosystem and I鈥檓 looking forward to seeing dozens of worthy companies from the region recognised here in the years to come.鈥
