Liverpool video intelligence firm LivingLens has been bought by Medallia for $26m

A Liverpool video intelligence platform has been bought by US tech giant Medallia for $26m.

The acquisition of Baltic Triangle company LivingLens has this week been announced by the customer experience management firm, based in San Francisco.

Claiming to give "unmatched insight", LivingLens uses video feedback to help companies across a variety of sectors better understand their product, customer and employee experiences.

Its customers include O2, Populus and CrowdLab.

Carl Wong, co-founder and CEO of LivingLens, told BusinessLive: "My team and I are absolutely delighted to be part of such a forward-thinking, exciting organisation.

"We remain committed to delivering value for Consumer Insight and Customer Experience teams, and this acquisition provides improved capabilities to accelerate that.

"Our customers are going to benefit from our greater level of resource, our capabilities and our ability to accelerate our roadmap in areas such as data science, humanizing feedback and servicing insights. We remain committed to consumer insight and, of course, customer experience."

The acquisition of the firm that has offices in Liverpool, London, New York and Toronto, is expected to close in February.
