Liverpool brand agency Uniform reveals new 'hypnotic' English Football League Mitre football to be used for 2020/21 season

The ball boasts an 'unbelievably accurate flight' - and players have given it 'brilliant feedback'

A Liverpool brand design agency is behind the new ball set to be used in the English Football League, and it had its first outing ahead of Fulham's Championship play-off win last week.

Bold Street-based Uniform has unveiled its "hypnotic and eye-catching pink and blue patterns" will be used by the 72 Championship, League One and League Two teams in the coming 2020/21 season.

The firm's Richard Pay is one of the only three º£½ÇÊÓƵ designers to have mastered the skill needed to design a football, and he has designed over 20 to date.

The ball was unveiled on the pitch at Wembley last week, before Fulham beat Brentford in the Championship play-off final to win promotion to the Premier League.

Uniform’s creative lead, Richard Pay, said: “Imagine designing a poster that has no start point, no end point, no top, or bottom, no edge.

"Just seamlessly connected all the way around. That’s what designing a football is like. The design needs to transition from one panel to the next, all the way around and back to itself.

"We developed a concept based on the idea of the flow state - a fluid, organic graphic. It was crucial that the design is distinct and will stand out at a small size when constantly on the move.

"No small feat. But we love a challenge.”
