Global IT giant CGI creating more than 700 jobs in the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ


The expansion will see it creating 150 jobs in Wales where it employs more than 1,200 at offices in Bridgend and St Asaph

Canadian IT and consulting firm CGI is creating more than 700 new jobs across the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ, including 150 in Wales, over the next year.

As part of its expansion the global firm, which currently employs more 5,576 in the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ, of which 1,207 are based at its Bridgend and St Asaph operations in Wales, is investing in new offices in Leeds, Leicester and Liverpool.

Tara McGeehan, president of CGI in the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ and Australia, said: “I’m delighted to be able to announce CGI’s growing commitment to the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ through this continued investment. Our growth is fully aligned with our ambitious net zero plan and science-based targets which include achieving a 46% reduction in absolute emissions from our operations and business travel by 2026.”

Lord Grimstone, Minister for Investment at the departments of International Trade and Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, said: “CGI’s expansion is a testament to the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ’s enduring strength as a global hub for investment, built on our competitive economy and cutting-edge innovation. This investment in the North of England, Scotland and Wales will create jobs, economic growth and help level up our regions and nations of the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ.”

CGI’s º£½ÇÊÓÆµ expansion comes after securing a five year partnership with Volkswagen Group in º£½ÇÊÓÆµ to provide them with managed IT services
