Winners, finalists, guests and sponsors enjoyed the 2022 LeicestershireLive Innovation Awards which took place at the King Power Stadium.

The evening was hosted by BBC Travel Show presenter and Metro 海角视频 technology editor Lucy Hedges, who praised the 鈥減henomenal ingenuity and creativity happening right here on our doorstep鈥�.

Winners included a fun Youtube channel to get kids active and a company which processes seeds which makes them easier to germinate.

There was also a special award for fingerprint recovery technology from Foster+Freeman which is already being used in the fight against crime.

This year鈥檚 Innovator of the Year Award went to Nemaura Medical 鈥� makes non-invasive wearable diagnostic devices.

There was a standing ovation for 2022 Lifetime Achievement Award, Prof Kamlesh Khunti, professor of Primary Care Diabetes & Vascular Medicine at the University of Leicester, for his years of dedication to public health including the fight against Covid-19.

He said: "Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine when I arrived as an immigrant to Leicester 50 years ago that I would get a Lifetime Achievement Award from my wonderful city."
