A robotics project in Flintshire has secured funds from a joint º£½ÇÊÓÆµ Government and industry investment scheme to back innovation in manufacturing.
Through the Manufacturing Made Smarter Challenge, the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ Government will invest £147 million – backed by further funding from industry – to support businesses implement new tech to boost their manufacturing productivity.
Business Secretary Alok Sharma confirmed at London Tech Week that Dialog, based at Deeside Industrial Park, was one of 14 fourteen º£½ÇÊÓÆµ projects to get backing.
The project is led by Atlas Copco IAS º£½ÇÊÓÆµ Ltd and brings together affordable, automatic and human-interacting robots to help machines make quicker and better decisions, making production more efficient.
The project received a total of £469,337 - part of the initial £50m investment announced today.
Business Secretary Alok Sharma said: "The Welsh manufacturing sector is a vital part of the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ economy, and backing businesses’ ground-breaking projects to boost productivity will help to drive our economic recovery.
“Supported by º£½ÇÊÓÆµ government funding, project Dialog in Flintshire will bring together the latest in robotics technologies to develop a more efficient and agile approach to º£½ÇÊÓÆµ manufacturing.”
