First cohort of apprentices land permanent jobs at MCG

The trio of new recruits have secured full-time positions at the technology solutions business

New recruits: Callum Newman Scott, Declan Melbourne and Nathaniel Adams

Technology solutions business My Clever Group (MCG) has handed permanent jobs to three apprentices who successfully completed an in-house training scheme.

The company – which has offices in Stoke-on-Trent and in Manchester – set-up the Clever Academy in 2019 to help young people to develop the skills and confidence needed for a successful career in technology.

Four apprentices joined the scheme as software developers 15 months ago, now three have secured full-time positions with the business.

The fourth is expected to join the company in March.

Gareth Mobley, executive chairman of MCG, said: “We’re really proud of our first cohort as they graduate. Their attitude, newly developed skills and energy have without a question made a mark on the business and its future, and we’re all very excited to see how their journeys with MCG continue to unfold.

“As we virtually celebrate their achievements, it’s apparent that continued investment in young talent is crucial in order to grow an agile business. Our culture champions adaptability and new ways of thinking, that’s why the Clever Academy offers ongoing training and development, and focuses on building the individual’s long-term success.”

The new recruits are Nathaniel Adams, who has been appointed as a junior site reliability engineer, Declan Melbourne, junior back end engineer and Callum Newman Scott, trainee IT support.
