Telecoms and IT services provider Wavenet has expanded with another acquisition. The Solihull-based firm has bought out OGL Computer Support Holdings and its two subsidiaries, OGL Computer Support and CyberGuard Technologies.

OGL is based in Stourport-on-Severn and works with more than 1,200 businesses across the º£½ÇÊÓƵ, delivering services such as IT products, business software and cyber security.

This is the latest acquisition by Wavenet, which specialises in cloud telecoms, IT and technology-managed services, after it bought out three separate companies in the space of a month last year.

Chief executive Bill Dawson said: "It is an extremely exciting time for Wavenet. With this acquisition, OGL and CyberGuard Technologies bring a wealth of knowledge and experience, enabling the Wavenet Group to strengthen its offerings and enhance the service provided to our customers.

"They have a talented team which shares the same values and their ambitions match ours of being a customer focused organisation, putting customer needs at the heart of everything we do.

"I look forward to our continued growth and success as we integrate OGL and CyberGuard into the Wavenet Group."

Paul Colwell, chief technology officer at OGL, added: "The acquisition of OGL’s managed IT services and cyber security divisions represents an exciting opportunity for us to extend our reach into new markets and deliver our extensive portfolio of leading solutions across Wavenet’s existing customer base.
