The body representing the fintech sector in Wales has a new chief executive.
Sarah Jones has been promoted from her role as FinTech Wales’ chief marketing officer. She replaces Sarah Kocianski who left over the summer having taken up the role in February last year.
Ms Jones, who joined Fintech Wales three years ago as head of marketing, has more than 20 years of experience in senior marketing including finance, tech, IT, legal, HR, healthcare andeducation.
She said “It’s a privilege to step into the role of chief executive of FinTech Wales and lead such a dynamic, ambitious community. FinTech Wales has already achieved so much in strengthening the ecosystem, and I’m excited to build on that foundation. My focus will be on supporting our members, championing innovation, and ensuring Wales is recognised globally as a thriving hub for financial technology.”
Sarah Williams-Gardener, chair and a former chief executive of FinTech Wales, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Sarah as chief executive of FinTech Wales. Having been part of the FinTech Wales journey for several years, she understands our ecosystem and community inside out, which makes her uniquely placed to take us forward.”
In 2022 FinTech Wales secured a £1.6m five-year investment from the Cardiff Capital Region (CCR) with both organisations working together to establish Wales as a leading Ƶ fintech hub.
