The growth of Hull’s emerging digital sector has continued with the arrival of energy saving specialist SMARTech.

SMARTech, headquartered in Wiltshire, recently announced it had completed the acquisition of fellow energy management firm Minimise.

The takeover has seen SMARTech set up new offices in Hull’s building – a cluster of like-minded digital and tech businesses covering a variety of sectors.

SMARTech now joins an array of exciting rising tech firms in the city, including app and software developer Sauce, 3D printing specialist NFire Labs, wearable tech business Moodbeam and hardware maker Nerdonic.

Stuart Pearce, managing director at SMARTech energy, said: “With consistent growth over the past five years, the focus for SMARTech energy is to continue to address the significant demands and mounting pressure on organisations in both the public and private sector to cut carbon emissions and reduce energy costs.

“The acquisition of an energy management specialist in the north of England allows us to expand our service offerings across the º£½ÇÊÓƵ to meet demand.”

Mr Pearce founded SMARTech in 2014 with the aim of building a business which would offer complete energy management and reduction for commercial businesses.

Since then, the company has firmly established itself as one of the major players in the energy management and reduction sector – typically reducing a commercial organisation’s energy consumption by up to 50 per cent.
