Growing digital agency whyaye has expanded into new offices after trebling its headcount last year.

The Newcastle digital transformation specialist has moved into The Toffee Factory in Ouseburn after seeing revenue grow 50% to more than £4m in 2021, while also growing its staff numbers from 22 in December 2020 to over 60 by the end of last year.

The growth was driven by 14 new client wins in 2021 across the financial services, technology and pharmaceutical sectors.

Founded by Maureen Robson Norman, Anna Bisset and Lisa Smith, who met while working on a Royal Bank of Scotland project in 2014, whyaye was set up in 2019 to bring a new approach to the º£½ÇÊÓƵ consultancy landscape.

Its º£½ÇÊÓƵ-wide team has experience of delivering IT transformation, business change and operational resilience programmes for major global financial services institutions, fast moving consumer goods organisations and multinational technology companies.

The founders said whyaye’s new headquarters at The Toffee Factory will provide a hub for its current team and provide space for future expansion.

The company, which moved to its new base from nearby Hoults Yard, plans to expand its team this year, and recently took on two apprentice software developers, as part of its commitment to developing tech talent in North East.
