Firms across Derby are being urged to find out more about how their businesses could benefit from a £45 million project to install full-fibre broadband across the city.

CityFibre has recently started work on the five-year project, in partnership with Derby City Council, to extend full-fibre broadband to almost every home and business in the city.

It is hoped the technology will help businesses in Derby to be ahead of the curve in post-lockdown Britain by improving efficiency and reducing costs.

Alfreton-based A1Comms Business has been appointed to champion the Derby scheme and explain how Derby firms can benefit.

Steve Heald, managing director at A1 Comms Business, said: “We’re delighted to be named as CityFibre’s City Champion and to be at the forefront of serving local SMEs in Derby with ultra-modern full-fibre connectivity on our Yappl network.

“A requirement to move data in and out with increased speed, combined with a need for greater capacity to grow, is a priority for all businesses in the East Midlands.

“The fibre infrastructure will also support mobile phone calls and data, including 5G networks, as well as fixed connections.”

A1 Comms Business is encouraging every business to contact them for a free connectivity review, which helps to explain where they can save money, how to increase efficiency and future-proof their systems.
