The Derby firm behind an app which allows venues to keep track of washroom issues such as empty soap dispensers and lack of toilet paper has seen a surge of enquiries for the technology as concern mounts over coronavirus.

HSG º£½ÇÊÓƵ, based on Pride Park, has said that it has been contacted by a number of venues about its Cleen technology, which is the º£½ÇÊÓƵ’s first fully integrated washroom services management tool and review app.

The technology enables venues, from restaurants to shopping centres, to receive real-time alerts of washroom issues, such as when soap dispensers and toilet rolls are running low.

Issues such as these can be reported by the general public either using the Cleen App, which is free to download onto a smartphone, or using the Cleen Tablet, which venues can provide outside washrooms with information instantly relayed to the venue for action to be taken.

Sonia Harvey, HSG’s brand manager for Cleen, said: “The continued government advice that thorough handwashing is crucial to contain the spread of coronavirus is evidently prompting venues to review their contingency plans.

“Over the past weeks, we have also had an increasing number of enquiries from a wide range of venues who provide multiple washroom facilities for their visitors and customers, from football stadia and shopping centres to restaurant chains and airports.

“There is an increasing awareness that facilities management and cleaning teams cannot always physically monitor washrooms around-the-clock and that Cleen can provide them with real-time information that is so vital at this time.”
