It is one of just 105 of Microsoft’s partners around the world to be awarded the Azure Expert Managed Service Provider title

One of Northern Ireland’s biggest managed IT service providers has been awarded rare partner status by tech giant Microsoft

Version 1 has been named as an Azure Expert Managed Service Provider (MSP), a tag designed to allow potential clients to identify the top managed service providers to work with.

It is one of just 105 of Microsoft’s partners around the world to be awarded the title and follows a raft of stringent tests.

The company, originally founded in Dublin, as a significant presence in Northern Ireland.

Version 1 revealed plans to double its workforce in Belfast earlier this year with the creation of 180 new jobs. Shortly after it announced the purchase of digital services specialist Neueda, the Belfast-founded business which specialises in Digital Transformation, Data Analytics, Trading and Cloud Services and works closely with the capital markets sector.

Aisling Curtis, Commercial Director at Microsoft Ireland, said the award is a major accolade.

“Only a select number of Microsoft partners are able to fulfil the requirements of the Azure Expert MSP programme which is designed to help our customers across Ireland find highly skilled and validated providers, such as Version 1, who can manage the most complex environments and strategically advise organisations on their digital transformation.”

Version 1 has been working with Microsoft technology since 2006, Tom O’Connor, CEO at Version 1, said.
