Communications firm Invosys has acquired a fellow Greater Manchester-based telecoms company.

The Walkden company said the acquisition of Atrium Telecom is a strategic move that will enhance its product suite, tech capability and customer offering.

The move was announced on Wednesday, after Invosys said it had identified a "natural synergy" between the two companies, who already share several joint customers, which matched Invosys’ core values of "leading from the front and delivering on promises".

Rob Booth of Invosys said: “Atrium is a fantastic business, with a proposition that perfectly complements everything we already do at Invosys. We share an ethos and an approach, which means the team will slot in perfectly with our ideas and plans for the future.

“The acquisition has allowed us to tap into enhanced level of technical support and harness it to ultimately offer more fantastic options to our established and excellent partner channel."

Operating since 2006, Invosys aims to challenge the established telecom firms and offer every business "the opportunity to choose smarter, simpler and easier to use services for their communications". It's known for its cloud comms platform and call logic software.

Atrium Telecom is an independent company providing installation and maintenance services to partners throughout the º£½ÇÊÓƵ, working for some of the º£½ÇÊÓƵs leading telecoms companies and manufacturers including Avaya and Panasonic.

Atrium's managing director Barry Tuffs previously spent a number of years leading the º£½ÇÊÓƵ Channel for Avaya and Unify, and joins Invosys as sales and marketing director.
