A dynamic co-working space to support Cheltenham's burgeoning cyber industry has opened in the heart of town.
Hub8 is a 7,000 ft2 dynamic co-working space in the Brewery Quarter with its sights fixed firmly on supporting the cyber industry in Gloucestershire.
The Hub has been designed for the specific requirements of cyber technology businesses with private offices, dedicated desks, hot-desks and virtual memberships plus access to regular events such as keynote speakers, workshops, seminars and hackathons.
Managing director Bruce Gregory said: “Hub8 is a purpose built work space dedicated to the growth and development of the flourishing tech and cyber sectors in Gloucestershire.
“The county is home to GCHQ but it’s not confined to that building.”
He cited that some of the world’s biggest tech and cyber security companies, such as BAE, have bases in Gloucestershire.
“The aim is bringing together both large and smaller companies with huge growth potential.”
The hub opened its doors on Monday, September 16, and there is already a buzz in the workspace.

“Its aim is simple, it’s engineered serendipity, it’s enabling that collaboration,” he said.
It’s hoped the hub will act as an incubator for the wider Cyber Central vision, which was launched at Hub8 on Tuesday, September 17.
Cyber Cheltenham will see a new cyber business park and up to 3,000 homes built in the west of Cheltenham.
“Its presence is a huge proof of concept for the Cyber Central initiative,” he said.
“It’s not just the SMEs which are benefitting. Small start-ups and ‘the disruptors’ of the industry – they’re the heart and soul of the community.
“This is for the start-ups, SMEs and larger companies, all of these can work together.”
The design-led purpose-built unit, largely designed and built by the Hub8 team, is in the heart of the Brewery Quarter, next to beauty company SLG.

Mr Gregory is also a director of CyNam, a non-profit making organisation which aims to bring together the best technology minds from local SMEs and start-ups to harness the cyber security ecosystem that flourishes around Cheltenham.
He says that Cheltenham is now the most successful cyber cluster in the 海角视频 with Cynam’s headline events three times a year attracting more attendees than anywhere else.
