Cardiff MSP Flotek acquires long-running Swansea IT provider

The tech firm has purchased Gower Business Systems in Llansamlet

Cardiff-based IT and communications service provider Flotek has acquired a long-running Swansea IT firm.

The start-up tech company, which is based at The Maltings in East Tyndall Street, has purchased Gower Business Systems.

The value of the deal was not disclosed however the firm said the acquisition has added £1.2m in revenue to Flotek's turnover.

The deal sees Flotek acquire the Swansea firm including its employees and office space in Enterprise Park in Llansamlet to extend coverage further with engineers closer to customers.

Gower Business Systems is a managed service provider which specialises in the legal and professional services sector.

It was started in 1991 by Mark Bowling and former Wales Rugby Union player Mark Wyatt.

Director of Gower Business Systems Mr Wyatt said: "Having developed the business’ success during the past three decades, joining with Flotek is an exciting next step for the Gower Business team.
