Birmingham tech firm Intercity expands with buyout deal

Microsoft specialist Centrality has joined the group, taking staff numbers to over 300

A Birmingham tech firm has expanded its group with a buyout deal. Managed services firm Intercity has acquired Microsoft specialist Centrality.

The acquisition increases Intercitys turnover to £60 million and takes the payroll up to more than 325 staff.

The acquisition brings 25 years of Microsoft experience to Intercity and will broaden and bolster its managed service offering. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

David Keeling, chief executive of Centrality, will join the new-look board as managing director of a new division focused on leveraging the company's expertise in Microsoft's suite of products.

Centrality's 100 employees will continue to work from their base in Bedfordshire.

City centre firm Intercity specialises in managed IT services, cloud, security and communications, serving more than 1,300 customers nationwide.
