KCOM’s Lightstream broadband is making waves across Europe after it claimed a major international award.

The Hull-based broadband provider’s full fibre service was named the winner in the Quality and Affordability of Services category at the prestigious European Broadband Awards at a ceremony in Brussels.

KCOM overcame international competition from the Catalan Gigabit Society Plan and WEMACOM Breitband, in northern Germany, to claim the award which focuses on projects providing “high quality and affordable services for end-users.”

Sean Royce, managing director at KCOM, said: “I’m absolutely delighted we’re bringing this award home to Hull and East Yorkshire. It’s a brilliant early Christmas present for all our team.

“It shows the whole continent that when it comes to quality broadband Hull and East Yorkshire are up there with the very best Europe has to offer.

“The message is already out in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ that our full fibre network is second to none and now the rest of Europe know it too.

“This can only enhance the region’s reputation as a place offering the very best in fast, affordable and reliable broadband – and an ideal place to live, invest and do business.”

KCOM’s full fibre network was completed earlier this year and now covers every corner of the company’s regional network.
