Andrew Neil鈥檚 GB News will give "under-represented" regions of the 海角视频 a chance to have their voice heard, according to the boss of the recruitment agency behind hiring for the channel.

Somerset-based OD Talent Solutions hired more than 100 roles from a pool of over 6,000 candidates who were keen to join the network. It also handled the employment paperwork for the channel鈥檚 high-profile recruits.

Laura O鈥橠riscoll, founder of the Taunton company, said the channel, which is the first to hit 海角视频 airwaves in 24 years, would bring 鈥渄iversity of thought and debate鈥.

"We are an agile business which totally understood the need for a new media platform that will give a voice to the regions beyond Westminster," she said.

鈥淏eing a working class girl from Yorkshire, now settled in the South West, I know first-hand how life in the regions differs so significantly to that in London, and how regional news and views have been underrepresented for a long time.

鈥淚t has been an honour to be selected to help GB News get off the ground by helping them build a strong team, rich in experience.鈥

Ms O鈥橠riscoll said her company was tasked with hiring a 鈥渟ignificant number鈥 of regional reporters across the country, in a bid to involve 鈥渘on-metropolitan voices in the national conversation鈥.

Mr Neil, who is chair of GB News, said the channel would not be another 鈥渆cho chamber for the metropolitan mindset that dominates much of the media鈥.

The channel鈥檚 inaugural programme, which faced a number of sound glitches, received mixed reviews when it launched on Saturday.

The Telegraph said the channel was 鈥渟peaking the language鈥 of its viewers, while the Guardian described its claim to be unbiased as 鈥渞isible鈥.

According to GB News's director of news and programming, the presenters will have the 鈥渇reedom to say what they think鈥.

John McAndrew, who has worked for the BBC, Sky News, ITN and NBC, said: 鈥淲e can sense a real hunger for something fresh and different in television news and debate.

鈥淚t鈥檚 humbling because we are a start-up with a fraction of the resources of others, but what we lack in size we make up for in passion and determination to provide a welcoming home for honest British news and debate.

鈥淎ll our presenters will have the freedom to say what they think, to have some fun and to be brave about covering the issues that really matter to the people of Britain.鈥
