Allstate NI says it has filled 100 new graduate and student posts in Northern Ireland since last summer

The move follows its recruitment of over 300 people since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic

US insurance giant Allstate NI has created and filled 100 student and graduate jobs in Northern Ireland since the summer, it has said.

The company, which employs over 2,500 people in the province, said it is currently “onboarding” the new recruits for graduate roles, placements, internships and apprenticeships.

The move follows its recruitment of over 300 people since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.

And the business is continuing to create new roles across its edge technologies, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, machine learning and cybersecurity divisions, as well as for entry-level positions, internships and yearlong placements in data science and business analytics.

“At Allstate, investing in the technological engineers of the future is something we have been passionate about for a long time,” Vice President and Managing Director of Allstate Northern Ireland John Healy said. “As we continue our steady emergence from the pandemic, business is not standing still.

“Modern technology is fast moving, and the demand for a digitally competent workforce is growing. With significant aspirations for the future, we’re investing in learning and are delighted to accelerate our student recruitment.”

The company said the recruitment drive follows a report by public policy forum Pivotal in August that found that over two-thirds of students who study outside Northern Ireland continue to live away from home after graduation.

In an effort to hire talent, it is promoting its flexible working offer.
