Over 20 cutting-edge technology innovations from South West start-ups and entrepreneurs will be on display in the Innovation Showcase at Venturefest SW in Exeter this month.

The Innovation Showcase is an opportunity for investors to see the latest technology and prototypes from the region and the trends and innovations that might become part of our daily lives in the years ahead.

Rich Adams, Venturefest SW steering group member and corporate project manager, University of Plymouth, said: "Award winning, life-changing, environment-saving and entertaining, the South West generated tech on show covers AI, health technology, drones, data analysis, gaming, live entertainment and e-commerce with products that are finding solutions to today’s challenges.”

Sponsored by Thomas Westcott, visitors to the Innovation Showcase will be able to fly over the River Exe estuary without leaving Sandy Park, meet Pepper the healthcare robot who knows how you feel and taste a Devon produced yellow split pea milk.

The impressive tech coming out of the South West will be on display at Venturefest SW at Sandy Park on June 17.

It includes an agri tech immersive dome, robotics, augmented reality and virtual reality, energy harvesting from human knee bending, electric mobility vehicles for the disabled, the world’s first and only instrument able to identify and warn of the presence of airborne asbestos fibres and a passenger carrying autonomous motorcycle.

Shona Godefroy, Deputy Managing Partner, Thomas Westcott said:  “We are excited to be supporting the Innovation Showcase at Venturefest SW this year. Embracing new technology is important for growth in the South West, and new businesses and start-ups are certainly a driving force behind this. We look forward to viewing the exhibitions from those businesses, some of which I am sure will be showcasing new technology and products which will never have been seen before.”
