Hull College takes leading role in Tech Week Humber

Digital curriculum showcase and first Educators’ Conference form part of November event

The most content rich event to date is being promised by those behind Humber Tech Week.

The launch is looming large, with Industry 4.0 the common theme set to emerge from November 7. Headline partner Hull College has helped shape the week-long series of events, presentations and discussions that will focus on future skills development to support economic growth in the region.

It will also showcase its digital curriculum transformation at Tech Week Humber’s flagship expo, hosted at the MKM Stadium on the Tuesday. A selection of innovative training and education facilities will be showcased through a range of electric vehicles, with demonstrations to show how drones can be used across many sectors, from construction to art and design.

Staff and students will also be on hand to speak about upcoming innovation and how technology is transforming curriculum.

Hull College is also the headline sponsor for the first Tech Week Humber Educators’ Conference, hosted at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel, Hull on the Wednesday. It will provide an open forum for industry and education to connect, showcase products and services and discuss how curriculums are aligned to ensure a future-ready skills workforce. Delegates will hear from the leadership team members of Hull College on a range of key issues facing education and regional businesses alike.

Deborah Millar, executive director of digital transformation at Hull College, will also deliver a keynote speech about future tech and its impact on industry, while Lynette Leith, vice principal, will lead discussion about how technology is embedded in curriculum development. A top-tier line-up of industry professionals from businesses such as Apple, VISR and KCom, as well as Hull City Council and many more contributors from the ed-tech space will contribute conversation and discussions of the day.
