Support since 1877

Helping people with both straightforward and complex legal issues for over 146 years, Davis Blank Furniss is proud to not only support its clients in a number of different ways, but its own people too.

With a passion for training and development, the firm is a believer in home-grown talent and many of the trainees that learn all the legal skills and knowledge needed to become experienced solicitors, stay on to become partners and senior members of the company.

Showcasing the excellent work that Davis Blank Furniss does in training up future lawyers, Richard Hamilton joined the firm as a trainee in 2001. After qualifying into the property department, he soon worked his way up the ladder, becoming a company partner in 2008. Now, Richard is currently managing partner.

The firm splits work between two offices and has a team of around 60 staff. Both offices offer the firm鈥檚 full range of services. A key focus for the Glossop office is to build on its corporate client base whilst maintaining its established reputation in family and personal law.

Being smaller than some larger, corporate law firms, means that the Davis Blank Furniss team can offer bespoke legal advice to each client who walks through the door. With competitive fees, the company鈥檚 vision is to be a dynamic firm that is structured to have one lead solicitor or legal advisor work with a client to see their matters through from start to completion.

This approach of close collaboration is something that often makes clients come back time and time again for advice or support. It has also allowed Davis Blank Furniss to build up a substantial clientele which is based on long-term and trusted relationships.

Forward-thinking

With a clear plan and strategy for the future of the company, Davis Blank Furniss wants to remain an independent legal firm with a strong North West client base. In an ever-changing and evolving legal landscape, the firm wants to show its current and future clients that it is a traditional legal firm with people at the heart of everything done.

Although the firm is always on the lookout for young lawyers to train up, as well as experienced solicitors who are experts in their field, Davis Blank Furniss doesn't believe in increasing its size just for the sake of it.

Often, trainees who have left the firm, return to work their way up the career ladder and be a part of a company that puts its people first. Believing that if you invest in your people they will invest in you, Davis Blank Furniss promotes a healthy work-life balance.
