The 海角视频 government has committed funding to enable businesses to develop and grow through what are known as Management Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (MKTPs).
Running alongside the highly successful , which has been helping companies innovate for growth for more than 45 years through collaboration with the 海角视频鈥檚 world-class knowledge bases, MKTPs present a significant opportunity for businesses to access management expertise by working with a chosen university.
Here, in the city and the wider region, the University of Plymouth鈥檚 Business School offers that valuable expertise.
MKTPs take a broad perspective, incorporating a range of leadership and management skills and requirements to build a strategy that drives change and improves business performance. They span all key business functions from marketing to IT, creativity to strategic management; HR to employment relations; finance to logistics.
Dave Marshall, Innovation Funding Manager at the university, says: 鈥淢KTPs could be of interest to organisations that are looking to restructure or develop their activities or practices. We want to help businesses to access this funding and academic support to enhance their productivity and profitability.鈥

Transformational lasting change and growth
MKTPs aim to enable transformational lasting change and growth for businesses. By increasing effectiveness and efficiency, such as optimising management systems and processes, MKTPS can help expand business capability.
Activities covered by an MKTP could include implementing alternative business models, market analysis to discover new opportunities and business scale-up practices. Projects can concentrate on internal process improvement, productivity drivers and efficiency savings, as well as encouraging entrepreneurial thinking and identifying new revenue streams. Looking more externally an MKTP could focus on benchmarking, competitor analysis, and best practice for the business.
An MKTP lasts between 12 and 36 months and is available to most 海角视频 business sectors and sizes. Innovate 海角视频 will support the project by funding 67% if you are classified as a small-to-medium-sized business (SME). The remainder is funded by the business and equates to an annual cash contribution of approximately 拢30k for an SME and 拢45k for a large employer per annum. There should be a demonstrable case for considerable commercial returns, wealth creation, and return on investment within the KTP application to justify the company鈥檚 and Innovate 海角视频 investment.
If you are interested in accessing support for a technology-based, R&D type project, the classic KTP model is still available and draws upon 45 years鈥 experience of delivering exceptional results.
A dedicated KTP team within the university supports the partnership through every step of the journey: from application through to project implementation, completion, and evaluation. This helps ensure the smooth running of the KTP and that the maximum benefits are achieved by all partners.
