Empower your employees by undertaking free diversity programme

Chwarae Teg is helping local businesses develop their equality, diversity and inclusion journeys

Agile Nation 2 Business programme

Chwarae Teg, the charity working for gender equality in a fairer Wales, is offering businesses an opportunity to develop or refresh their EDI (equality, diversity and inclusion) journeys by joining onto the fully-funded Agile Nation 2 Business programme.

The programme, delivered by HR specialists from Chwarae Teg, provides recipients with expert advice and support to develop successful business strategies and empower employees. Through in-depth, bespoke training on EDI policy, the programme asks businesses to consider if have placed the right people in the right roles.

As the programme is fully funded by the European Social Fund via the Welsh Government, eligible businesses can take part in this robust training scheme completely for free.

The 12-week programme is tailored to the unique needs of each business.

What to expect

The 12-week programme is tailored to the unique needs of each business. Through the course of individualised client journeys, companies take part in interactive workshops on inclusive working. They receive dynamic support from HR specialists and up-to-date knowledge on best practice, while learning strategies for aligning business goals with EDI policy.

The programme is dedicated to enhancing inclusive elements of the business’s policies and practices, starting with recruitment and working all the way up through to the management structure. Companies build and develop an learning and development culture which emphasises the importance of continuous learning, growth, and development for all staff.

The programme also tackles structural issues of inequality within the economy. Through the training, business leaders are equipped with the best practice knowledge to drive positive change and enhance their workplace culture while actively combating unconscious bias.

Improving Wales and beyond

So far, the programme has effectively supported 645 employers. As a result of this programme, 599 employers have improved or adopted a measurable equality and diversity strategy tailored to their business needs.

3,455 staff are now working differently - by implementing hybrid and agile working, improving employee development, and identifying opportunities for progression and retention. Additionally, the programme has resulted in 149 employers voluntarily participating in environmental initiatives, which has far-reaching impacts beyond the economy and beyond Wales.

Leabold Financial Services, a Welsh business which benefitted from the scheme, stated: "We have benefitted from Chwarae Teg reviewing all our practices to help us continuously improve. We have attended workshops...and have benefitted from the support of our employer partner...to strengthen our approach and to incorporate best practice.’"
