Birmingham鈥檚 top 18 young professionals for 2016 have been revealed.

The leading lights, aged 35 and under, in finance; HR, Recruitment and Training; law; marketing and communications; property and construction; and technology have been selected as finalists for Birmingham Young Professional of the Year (BYPY).

An overall winner of the flagship awards, run by BPS Birmingham, will be revealed at the glittering awards ceremony on Thursday 12 May at the .

Three rising stars aged 16 to 24, in full time higher/ further education, who are in the running for the Aspiring Talent Award have also been revealed.

An exemplary figure within the professional community will also be crowned 鈥業nspiring Leader鈥 on the night.

Bina Ganatra, chairman of the Committee, said: 鈥淚 am completely blown away by the talent we鈥檝e seen as part of the nominations process 鈥 this is, without a doubt, one of the strongest and most competitive years for BYPY.

鈥淓ach category attracted a strong calibre of candidates, which made the final shortlisting extremely difficult. It鈥檚 a great problem to have and demonstrates the strength of the region鈥檚 business and professional services community.鈥

Each of the six category finalists will now be interviewed by the BYPY judging panel who will look to see that they are great at what they do, have a passion for Birmingham and can be great ambassadors for the city 鈥 and bring those qualities together to make a difference.

Ms Ganatra said: 鈥淭he process can seem daunting for nominees 鈥 but we are looking for young professionals to be themselves and to shine. I can鈥檛 wait for May 12.鈥
