Accenture announces headline sponsorship of the North East Business Awards

Leading professional services company continues to champion regional business through sponsorship of Innovation and Technology category

As the season gets under way, has announced it will be a joint headline sponsor of this year's awards, as well as Innovation and Technology category sponsor for the Northumberland and Tyneside heat. The news continues the company’s long-term investment in the region.

Accenture is actively seeking to expand its footprint across the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ and is committed to contributing regional prosperity in the North East. Fundamental to this is creating 360-degree value for communities in the region and supporting highly valued local partnerships and events.

Since 2010, the at Cobalt Business Path has established itself as a major tech force within the North East, employing hundreds of the most talented tech professionals in the region. Just six months ago Accenture also announced a major drive to deliver more than 3,000 new technology jobs, 1,500 of which would be based outside of London – in Newcastle, Manchester, Leeds, Edinburgh and Glasgow – with new roles being driven by increased client demand for digital services in cloud engineering, cybersecurity, data and AI.

The Innovation and Technology category identifies and rewards companies which have launched the most innovative new products and services, or those who have built or embraced new technology to drive their company forward. It seeks to rewards those building fantastic digital products and services or those that have deployed digital solutions to overcome significant business challenges.

The North East Business Awards Grand Final is set to take place on Thursday, 29 September at the Grand Marquee, Hardwick Hall Hotel, following regional heats in Northumberland and Tyneside, Durham, Sunderland and South Tyneside, and Teesside.

The North East Business Awards, which have been running for more than 20 years, are an annual celebration of successful and innovative businesses delivering outstanding work across the region. The objective of the awards is to help boost economic growth, enrich local communities, nurture regional talent and showcase all the North East has to offer.
