A family holiday with a teenager and a pre-teen can be pretty stressful.

They鈥檙e slightly too old for the kids鈥 club and just a bit too young to be independent, so there鈥檚 always a danger there鈥檒l be cries of 鈥渨e鈥檙e bored鈥.

But there鈥檚 no chance of that at the four-star in in the Canary Islands. There are activities for all the family at every hour of the day meaning the kids won鈥檛 have a chance to utter the dreaded B-word.

Here, our junior reporter Lola Grundy, 11 鈥 daughter of Daily Mirror journalist Amanda Killelea 鈥 gives us the lowdown on her family鈥檚 trip to Sunconnect HD Beach Resort, along with some feedback from her mum....

鈥淚 love going on flights as it means you are going on holiday! I always watch a movie on my iPad to make the time go quicker. The meal was really nice too 鈥 my favourite roast chicken dinner.

鈥淥ur room was really nice with a view over the pool. Me and my sister had our own space with a TV, and the bed was really comfy.

鈥淓ven better, we couldn鈥檛 hear Daddy snoring. I made Mummy jump in the pool even though it was freezing!!!

鈥淚 had never been to Lanzarote before so it was exciting. It was very sunny and some days it was really windy, but that was good as you didn鈥檛 get too hot and sweaty.

鈥淚 liked the waffle stall in the square 鈥 the crepes and waffles were delicious.

鈥淚 think the kids鈥 club was mainly for younger kids but I really enjoyed all the activities that the kids鈥 club reps put on in the hotel.

It was Lola's first trip to Lanzarote

鈥淭he crazy golf was good fun and the night-time shows were funny. They even made some of the parents get up on stage!

鈥淚鈥檇 never done yoga before but it was really fun, especially watching Mummy and Daddy trying to do downward dog.

There's plenty for kids of all ages to do at Sunconnect HD Beach Resort in Lanzarote

鈥淲e went to the water park one day and the slides were brilliant.

鈥淥verall, the holiday was amazing as we did loads of stuff as a family. Me and Gracie even beat Mum and Dad at tennis.鈥

鈥淭he hotel is really modern and is spotlessly clean. The spa and gym area is fantastic - state-of-the-art equipment and three Jacuzzis.

鈥淭he kids鈥 club was geared up for children aged four to nine. But that didn鈥檛 matter as there were so many activities in the teen lounge, plus crazy golf, waterpolo, giant Connect 4, football, boules and tennis. The staff worked really hard to entertain all the guests, from the very youngest right up to the grandparents.

鈥淭his is where the Sunconnect HD Beach Resort comes into its own. There is a fun-packed itinerary so if sunbathing all day isn鈥檛 your thing you have plenty of other options.

鈥淭he reps do a great job of keeping the whole family entertained. Sandy the fitness instructor was brilliant and encouraged the girls to enjoy yoga and pool games. We played tennis every day, and went cycling and kayaking.

鈥淭here are loads of excursions on offer if you fancy a day trip or boat cruise - there is so much to do you really needn鈥檛 leave the hotel.

鈥淎t home we are so busy with work, school and kids鈥 activities, that it鈥檚 rare we get time to do stuff as a family, so this holiday was fantastic as we spent so much quality time together. We got the balance right between taking time to relax while also enjoying all the activities and entertainment the resort had to offer. Roll on next year.鈥
