An East Midlands-based energy supplier is expanding its office in Leicester and creating around 50 new jobs 鈥 and more could follow.
Y眉 Energy, which has its head office in Nottingham, is moving its Leicester operation to a bigger premises in St John鈥檚 House, near the city鈥檚 train station.
It is a national supplier of gas, electricity and water to businesses, and employs around 150 people.
The new office will open later this summer and will allow Y眉 Energy to expand its existing sales team.
The company will be recruiting for sales roles over the next few months.
It currently has 16 people working in its Leicester office, which is in St George鈥檚 House, in St George鈥檚 Way.
The new office will complement Y眉 Energy鈥檚 existing Nottingham headquarters which the company will continue to operate from.
The business is part of Y眉 Group PLC, which saw its turnover grow by 77 per cent to 拢80.6 million last year.
However it saw adjusted losses 鈥 before things such as interest, taxes, depreciation 鈥 of 拢6.3 million for the year, following a detailed accounting review.
That compared to a profit of 拢1.5 million in 2017.
The group鈥檚 share price has dropped from around 拢10 at the end of last summer to less than 拢2.
