Warren Holiday Resort owner Haulfryn appoints new chief executive

Echo Lu will take over at the company which has parks in Wales and England

º£½ÇÊÓÆµ holiday park group Haulfryn has appointed the former Homebase managing director as its new chief executive.

Haulfryn, founded in 1935, is a family-owned company which began with the Warren Holiday Resort in Abersoch, Gwynedd and now owns 14 parks in Wales and England.

It has announced that Echo Lu will take the reins of the company, which employs nearly 500 team members, on February 1.

Born and raised in China, Echo completed her military service and attained her first degree there, before moving to the USA to complete her Masters degree.

With an impressive CV spanning over 20 years, her general management experiences include COO for Tesco China, property director for Tesco º£½ÇÊÓÆµ/Ireland and later on managing director for Homebase and Holland & Barrett International.

Echo is currently a serving non-exec director of Coats Group plc and a Be Inspired Ambassador for Retail Week.

Outgoing CEO, Bobby McGhee, said: “Echo is a highly skilled executive with a great mix of operational excellence and performance improvement experience across multi-site businesses.

"With strategic analysis and insight alongside outstanding leadership skills, she will be an asset to Haulfryn and is well placed to take the company forward in the coming years.”
