The chief executive and founder of Ultimate Products, which sells the likes of Salter, Kleeneze and Russell Hobbs under licence, has handed 100,000 shares to charity.
Simon Showman, who established the Greater Manchester-headquartered listed company in the late 1990s, has handed the shares of 25p each to The Showmanrose Foundation, a charitable trust.
In a joint statement Simon and Hayley Showman said: "Our family is delighted to be in a position to provide much-needed support to a number of charities across the Greater Manchester region.

"The Showmanrose Foundation will have a particular focus on local children’s causes and projects, especially those that are under-resourced and for which these funds will hopefully make a real and lasting difference.
"We see it as both a responsibility and a privilege to give back to the communities in which we live and work, and doing so has also been a guiding principle for Ultimate Products since its inception."
The move comes after half-year sales at Ultimate Products rose by almost 15% during the first half of its current financial year.
The group said its revenue increased by 13.7% to £85.7m during the six months to January 31, 2022.

Ultimate Products, which completed the acquisition of Salter for £34m in July 2021, also sells brands such as Beldray, Intempo and Dreamtime.
The group is expected to announce its interim financial results on Friday, April 29.
