A farm business known for providing hog roasts at events around Wales has announced plans to end the venture due to rising costs.

Back in 2006 Huw and Ela Roberts started to rear pigs on their farm at Llithfaen, near Pwllheli.

At first they provided carcases for friends and family before starting to supply pork to the local Spar. The brand Oinc Oink was born and alongside delivering pork and sausages to shops they started to do hog roasts for weddings, birthday parties and other events.

But this week the family announced they were winding down Oinc Oink due to rising costs. They did though reassure customers all existing bookings will be honoured.

Huw and Ela posted on Facebook: "As you are all very well aware, prices are increasing, at the moment pig feed is at its highest, fuel, electricity and everything in general, because of these reasons and personal reasons we have decided to end the ‘Oinc Oink‘ business.

"Sad news, yes, but we have had many years of great success, and that’s due to the support of our loyal customers. Thank you

"To reassure all that have booked us for a hog roast, every booking is safe and we will provide the service as agreed. We will not be taking further bookings for the hog roast after September 2022.
