Topshop, Topman, Dorothy Perkins and all other Arcadia stores shut due to virus

Parent company Arcadia said stores had shut at 4pm today – and would remain shut until the crisis had passed

Every Topshop, Topman, Miss Selfridge, Dorothy Perkins, Evans and Burton store in the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ and Ireland is being shut to mitigate the spread of coronavirus.

Parent company Arcadia said stores had shut at 4pm today – and would remain shut until the crisis had passed.

Online operations will stay open.

It came as Boris Johnson announced cafes, bars, pubs and restaurants are to be closed as of this evening under sweeping new measures to try and slow the virus.

But those worried about losing their jobs have been told the Government will pay 80 per cent of wages for everyone who finds themselves out of work – up to a maximum of £2,500 a month.

Arcadia owns sight high street fashion brands and employs 19,000 people across the world.

It is owned by Sir Philip Green and his family.
