A top Cornish hotel has reopened its flagship restaurant after a £3m refurbishment.

The Headland Hotel, a double five-star destination in Newquay, has launched Restaurant RenMor as part of an ongoing refurbishment programme at the clifftop venue.

RenMor, meaning by the sea in Cornish, replaces the hotel's The Samphire as its signature restaurant, and similarly to The Deck Restaurant in the Aqua Club and The Terrace, it will welcome both guests and non-residents.

Veryan Palmer, director of The Headland Hotel, said: “It has taken an incredible amount of vision, planning and execution to deliver a world class restaurant and it is testament to everyone involved in the renovation that we can now welcome diners for a fantastic new experience.

“The striking interiors are warm and timeless and there is attention to detail wherever you look. It is a restaurant in which luxury is for everyone – dress up or dress down, but most of all, take your time. It’s all part of the journey.”

There are views over the Atlantic Ocean from Restaurant RenMor and the new design gives guests the opportunity to enjoy the sights and aromas from the open plan kitchen. The menu reflects the surroundings - championing Cornish produce from land and sea which is sourced sustainably from local suppliers.

Head chef Fred Goodrich has built up relationships with local farmers and fishermen, smallholdings and micro businesses to deliver quality Cornish produce, either directly from the boat every morning or from field to plate in hours.
