Three new brands have announced plans to open in the £168 million extension to one of the country’s busiest out-of-town shopping parks.

The Perfume Shop, Soho Coffee and Costa Coffee are opening units at the 140,000-sq ft extension to Fosse Park shopping centre, being built next to junction 21 of the M1 at Leicester.

They will join Mike Ashley’s Frasers Group, which is planning an upmarket mega-store with a wide area dedicated to its Flannels brand and an esports gaming arena.

Last year the troubled Debenhams chain pulled out of plans to build a new store at the Fosse Park extension.

That troubled department store chain originally wanted to spend millions on a new anchor store at a big extension to the shopping centre currently going up.

It had been in talks with Fosse Park’s owners to try and salvage the plans after going into administration in April, 2019.

Fosse Park co-owner The Crown Estate said the new development is now more than two-thirds pre-let, and will open to the public in early 2021.

The three new join Nando’s, KFC, Greggs and EE in a new dining space linking the old and new sides of the site, which will house up to 13 food units and four retail stores.
