Tesco has agreed a tie-up with an independent black-owned publishing house which will see a number of new titles going on sale in 55 of the supermarket's stores.

It is the second year London-based Jacaranda Books has collaborated with Tesco for Black History Month.

This year's campaign, which falls under Tesco鈥檚 Black Action Plan - a strategy to achieve fair and equitable representation across key areas of the business - will run for an extended six weeks.

The 12 books selected celebrate the richness and diversity of black narratives, highlighting stories, voices and experiences from across the black community.

The list features customer favourites from last year鈥檚 campaign, including Stick to my Roots by British reggae legend Tippa Irie; Becoming Muhammad Ali by Kwame Alexander and James Patterson; and If I Don鈥檛 Have You by the late acclaimed author and editor Sareeta Domingo.

New titles going on sale this year include DD Armstrong鈥檚 Ugly Dogs Don鈥檛 Cry; Anni Domingo鈥檚 Breaking the Maafa Chain; and Lisa Bent鈥檚 Symona鈥檚 Still Single.

Jacaranda sales director Jazzmine Breary said: 鈥淲e are delighted to be partnering with Tesco once again to showcase 12 outstanding works by talented black writers.

"At Jacaranda, we are committed to meaningful collaborations that drive lasting impact and reflect a continued commitment to change.

"Through our renewed partnership with Tesco, and the launch of Jacaranda on the Tesco Marketplace, we are bringing inclusive books to readers wherever they are - online or in-store - making books by black writers a more visible, accessible and natural part of our everyday shopping experience.鈥

Jacaranda Books is also planning a permanent launch on Tesco Marketplace where customers will be able to shop the publisher鈥檚 entire list alongside everyday groceries.

And the publisher is taking part in a special Black History Month event at Tesco headquarters.
