One of the Midlands’ most stunning dining venues has announced a new range of afternoon teas and dinners for the August bank holiday.

Stanbrook Abbey, an iconic former monastery built in a Georgian, Gothic revival style is set in 21 acres of Worcestershire countryside,

It has been recently refurbished and is now tempting guests to visit and try a series of culinary treats, from Pimm’s-themed afternoon teas to Sunday lunches

Head chef Sean Byrne is promising to give archetypal British dining experiences a seasonal twist, sourcing local ingredients from the farms of Worcester and the Vale of Evesham.

Guests will also be able to take free guided tours of the historic site, which includes a chapel, a 100ft bell tower, a lavender garden, private lake and orchard, nestled beneath the picturesque Malvern Hills.

Afternoon tea will include a selection of fresh loose leaf tea, finger sandwiches, dainty cakes, homemade fruit scones with clotted cream and a glass of Pimm’s.

The signature afternoon tea includes a chocolate fondue with strawberries and homemade marshmallows.

This weekend’s Sunday lunch will see a three-course meal served in the Thompson Dining Hall which boasts hand carved wood panelling and hand painted coats of arms.
