Tabletop gaming firm set to for major US expansion after sealing deal

Warlord was created by former Games Workshop employees

John Stallard, CEO of Warlord Games

A tabletop gaming firm with the official BBC license to create Dr Who miniatures is set to launch studios and retail stores along the east coast of the USA.

Warlord Games, based in Nottingham, has entered into a "long-term" partnership with entertainment group Mythicos Studios, with their first new store set to open in New York this October.

The firms plan to create a number of new co-branded venues, Mythicos Studios, as well as Mythicos' studio in New Jersey being rebranded.

The outlets will support the full array of games within the sector, including board games, collectible card games, role-playing and tabletop.

The partnership will also include the co-development and manufacturing of new Mythicos games and expansions to current offerings from Warlord Games, which is headquartered in Lenton, Nottingham.

John Stallard, CEO and founder of Warlord Games, believes the new partnership will change the face of the hobby industry.

He said: "Everyone at Warlord Games is thrilled to partner with Mythicos Studios. Our companies share a dedication to our gaming communities. We seek to provide gamers of all types with the very best venues in which to enjoy their favorite aspects of the games they love.”

Mr Stallard's thoughts on the partnership were echoed by Mythicos' chairman and founder Nelson Martinez, who said it "will help Mythicos Studios expand our model of focusing on the gamers and the games they are so passionate about".
