Mr Morfuni, who took over The Robins in 2021, said the club had received expressions of interest from potential buyers, but that “does not equate to actively seeking a sale”.

He also told fans he had also invested £250,000 into the Wiltshire club, in order to “stabilise” its financial position, saying that current revenue was “not sufficient” to cover running costs.

was issued following Swindon Town’s 4-7 upset at the hands of National League side Aldershot Town at home in the first round of the FA Cup on Saturday (November 4).

Mr Morfuni said: “There have been reports and speculation concerning player payments and HMRC issues which I can confirm have been paid and also paid on time. In the past fortnight, I have injected £250,000 to stabilise the club and I will continue to stabilise the club as and when needed.

“We still encounter many difficulties due to the years of mismanagement from the prior ownership and these challenges are still painstakingly being worked through and paid for me.
