A salon that was burnt to the ground has reopened and is now offering its customers access to luxury treatments as well as a prosecco bar.

Daccs Salon, in Washington, was devastated by a fire that destroyed half of its premises at the start of the year, but the company’s owners have now reopened at the former Sandpiper Pub, in Biddick, Washington.

The company is owned by Chris and Diane Irwin, who have spent the last four months transforming the pub into the new salon. Their efforts have seen the old pub kitted out with Italian furnishings and new treatment rooms. It also contains a licenced gin and prosecco bar, allowing customers to have a enjoy a refreshing drink during their treatments.

Outside facilities have also been created so that customers can have their treatments take place in the sunshine during the summer months.

Mr Irwin said: “We had a fire on February 6 this year. It was pretty serious and there was massive damage to the property. We found an alternative premises a mile away so there was no inconvenience to the customers.

“We opened on Friday and we are back bigger and better than ever. We have taken on additional staff and have more to offer. It’s a real good news story.”
