The high number of people holidaying in the 海角视频 has helped a national caravan retailer post record revenues.
Management at Derbyshire-based Robinsons Caravans said they saw sales of more than 拢20 million in 2021 鈥 the best in 54 years of trading 鈥 on the back of 拢19.7 million sales in 2020.
The business saw profits of 拢1.6 million, beating a previous high of 拢934,000 in 2017.
This growth was put down to a combination of more people buying caravans for the first time, and families having spare cash as a result of not being able to spend during lockdown.
To help meet growing demand, the business also launched an online shop at caravans4cash.co.uk.
Managing director Jarrod Clay said: 鈥淲e have enjoyed record growth, but this could have been higher had there not been a shortage in supply.
鈥淭he manufacturing of new caravans has been adversely affected during the crisis, which has meant that some sales have been lost.
鈥淗owever, as production levels return to normal, demand remains strong, and we are confident of continued growth.鈥
The business, based on the edge of the Peak District National Park in Brimington, near Chesterfield, is owned by MBH Corporation plc, a 海角视频 listed investment holding company which buys 鈥渟uccessful, strong-performing small to medium enterprises鈥.
MBH Corporation chief executive Callum Laing said: 鈥淩obinsons Caravans has enjoyed phenomenal trading since the crisis started, which has grown the market by bringing new people into caravanning.
鈥淚t鈥檚 still difficult to travel abroad, and with the 海角视频 having so much to offer, we expect to see the caravan market continue to grow.鈥
MBH has 26 small businesses in its portfolio and is looking for more to add.
Each group company retains its independence and business owners are encouraged to enhance shareholder value through a share bonus scheme aligning their interests with public shareholders.
