Retail, craft and food businesses wanted for the newest pier in Wales

The mini pier in Colwyn Bay opened this year and Conwy council now wants local firms based on the structure

Food, craft and retail businesses are wanted on the newest pier in Wales.

Colwyn Bay Pier opened in July - replacing the old Victoria Pier, which was demolished after partially collapsing into the sea.

The new 40m truncated pier features ironwork and ornate support columns salvaged from the original landmark.

Now Conwy County Borough Council is inviting applications for seasonal concessions at the site.

The council is looking to attract local independent businesses to offer food, drinks, retail, arts and crafts, activities or pop-up eventss

Cllr Brian Cossey, Chair of the Council’s Pier Project Board, said: “We’re looking for seasonal concessions that will complement the character of this beautifully designed structure and the existing businesses along the waterfront.”
