Restaurant closes after 30 years in business

Owners had hoped to reopen the King Street restaurant but staff have now been told it has closed for good

Boarded up: Loch Fyne Seafood & Grill, in King Street, Nottingham

An established Nottingham restaurants has become the latest victim of the coronavirus pandemic in the city.

The Loch Fyne Seafood & Grill, in King Street, has been boarded up since the start of lockdown.

It is one of 11 sites to have gone across the country.

In July owners Greene King told Nottinghamshire Live that they were working hard behind the scenes to reopen in line with all the necessary safety procedures and hoped to be back soon in a Covid-secure way.

However, staff have now been told that the restaurant has closed for good.

A spokesperson for Loch Fyne Seafood & Grill said: "It is always a difficult decision to close a restaurant and we are working with our Nottingham team to try to find them alternative roles in the area.

"We would like to thank all our customers who have visited us over the years."

Former Sheriff of Nottingham and author Catharine Arnold was a big fan and said she was gutted to hear about the closure.
