An employee-owned cash and carry and convenience store giant has posted record sales for its latest financial year.

Stockport-headquartered Parfetts, which also includes the Go Local brand, has reported a turnover of £634m for the 12 months to the end of June this year. The total is up from the £604m it posted for the prior 12 months.

The result means all eligible Parfetts employees were awarded a 4% tax-free sales bonus in July.

However, the group has not revealed how much pre-tax profit it achieved during the year. During the prior period, its profits were slashed from £14.5m to £5.6m.

The figure is not likely to be published until its official accounts are filed with Companies House. The deadline for that is March 31, 2024.

Joint managing director Guy Swindell said: "We’ve placed our retailers at the heart of our business.

"As an employee-owned company, we can invest in creating great margins and providing a great experience whether you come into the depot or order online.
