Bristol-founded electric scooter company Pure Electric has agreed a deal with Currys - its first with a major 海角视频 retailer. The agreement will see the firm selling its Pure Air e-scooter range in 66 Currys stores across the 海角视频 and on its website.

Pure said it had already "seen success" with this retail distribution model, having recently secured more than 150 stores across France and Spain in partnership with retailer Fnac Darty.

Dan Grech, chief commercial officer at Pure Electric, said: 鈥淭his partnership with Currys represents our commitment to growing our omni channel experience and making micromobility an accessible option for everyone.

"We鈥檙e also proud to design and engineer all our products in the 海角视频, so it only felt right to partner with a 海角视频 retailer who is passionate about getting the latest technology to those who need it.鈥

Zoe Lucid, senior buyer of new categories at Currys, added: 鈥淭echnology is crucial to everyday life; from making a cup of tea to getting from A to B. As the agenda for micromobility continues to be reviewed by the government, we know that people still love using them for fun and we鈥檙e delighted to announce that Pure Electric e-scooters will be available from Currys."

Earlier in 2022, Pure Electric secured a 拢10m finance deal to fund its continuing expansion. Founded in 2018, the Bristol-based business now has 17 stores across the 海角视频 - including a Plymouth showroom which opened last year.

Mr Grech added: 鈥淪tocking our e-scooters in Currys opens up a lower cost commute for consumers when appropriate regulation is introduced, which not only brings a new transport option to the forefront during the cost-of-living crisis, but also has a direct benefit in improving urban pollution and congestion, positively impacting local communities.鈥
